Here is Sheryl's "side" of the story. Remember, The Mo'Kelly Report broke this story. Tom Joyner (an Omega) asks questions here in which he ALREADY knows the answers, don't get it twisted. He doesn't let Underwood run from the reality that this is a "controversy." And note, Underwood claims there is NO investigation with the election. She said it TWICE. Somebody is lying.

Get the audio HERE

Although you'd tried to clown today Sheryl...let the record reflect that irrespective of any "credentials" you listed on the TJMS show today...the truth doesn't change. 13 year-old girls don't know you for your professional "duality"...they know you for your vulgar comedy about sucking d#$@% and having your p#$%(@ eaten. The fact that you had to go on a national radio program to list your "credentials" is proof that the nation doesn't know (or care) about your credentials. If you had to "tell" everybody about them, then ipso facto...you're not KNOWN for them.

You are KNOWN as a vulgar comedian. Your work as a comedian has "touched" more people than as a "community leader." And "community leader" is a stretch to begin with.

Mo'Kelly doesn't need to be a Zeta to know for a fact that Underwood is not a representation of "finer womanhood." There are some things that just "are" not what we would hope for them to be. Mo'Kelly isn't a citizen of Zimbabwe either but he damn sure knows that Mugabe must go. Mo'Kelly's never been to Darfur but we should be able to agree that genocide is not ok.

You can glue chicken feathers on that chinchilla all day long. It's not ever going to be a chicken and Mo'Kelly is not ever going to want it as part of his 2-piece and biscuit meal. It's a chinchilla...and Sheryl Underwood is a horrible representation of Black womanhood. One can find a foul-mouthed, self-loathing "sorority member" in each and every NPHC sorority. None of these members should be leading the way. So don't take it "personally" Sheryl...Mo'Kelly wouldn't want you OR anyone LIKE you at the top.

And that's the triple truth...Ruth.

Actually, she didn't try to clown you. I heard the whole interview and she handled herself quite well.

I'll say this much: I think ALL fraternities and sororities need to rethink how they present themselves in the public atmosphere. Before I take that back, I'll add more to it. You all never know who can be your next greatest pledge or honorary member.

But when you come by my blog (A Sexy Leo Queen- I'm calling you out) and disrespect me and call me ignorant about having an opinion about BGLOs- it proves how one-sided that most (not all) black Greeks can be.

I don't have to be a Greek to understand that Blacks know more about the Greeks than they do about their own history. And this is not an affront to you Mo' Kelly, nor is it one to Ms. Underwood.

You all gang up on people rather than hear (or read) their opinions, and somebody like me who might have considering joining will become disinterested in your organizations altogether.

Zack, her clowning was in her positioning that a "blogger" from outside the organization doesn't know what he's talking about...and then she went into her list of "accolades" and positions.

At its heart, it's not about whether and "entertainer" should/could lead these organizations, it's about whether this brand of foul-mouthed and vulgar entertainers should lead. She skirted around that very nicely.

See, there's this "stigma" often attached to bloggers that we're "pseudo-media" and don't get our facts straight...when in truth, she knows I'm a part of the mainstream media first and foremost. I "blog" on the side.

Her "clown" was in being dismissive of the facts surrounding this controversy...as if The Mo'Kelly Report doesn't matter.

If it didn't matter, Tom Joyner wouldn't be asking her about it and she wouldn't be directly referencing me...by name.

What's really going to be interesting is if this election decision is rescinded...after this interview and her proclamations would be HILARIOUS.

Having her go back on the TJMS after being deposed like Saddam Hussein. I'm in a BGLO, this seems like it's FAR from over.

And don't let the naysayers bother you. The fact that somebody is reading AND responding is validation enough. Take it from me, it's an unintended compliment from the person.

Because they will then keep on coming back.

You don't want/need people to "agree"...only acknowledge that what you have to say is worth reading and responding to...that's all that matters. That means you're relevant and so are your opinions.

Interesting how she avoided the question about how close the race was. She is full of it.

FYI - Sheryl Underwood is NOT the International Grand Basileus of Zeta Phi Beta. There was a vote, she and 3 other sorors were in the running for the position. After the vote, there was a requirement that a run-off be conducted. All week long sorors were LATE to the morning meeting. Some sorors were too intent on getting to Patti Labelle's show and decided to leave with the Executive Board. Some sorors decided that they would rather sleep in than conduct the business of Zeta Phi Beta. On Thursday morning, in accordance with the PRE-PRINTED agenda that was given out when we registered, there was another morning meeting, so if they missed the meeting, that's on them. They knew when it was, we were all at the same hotel, it was no secret since the meeting time had been printed on the agenda. Some sorors decided they could just sleep in and pretend there was not important business to attend to. Oh well, that's on them. There was a run-off election and Soror Underwood lost. That's all. Because of the presumptiveness of some sorors, there was a move to place Soror Underwood in the position anyway. As such, it was necessary to take legal action to enjoin this event. It is currently pending in a court of law and will be resolved there. So, if Soror Underwood wishes to go around the country purporting to be Grand Basileus, so be it. Zeta Phi Beta will not have a new GB until a court makes that determination.

Perhaps some younger Sorors think it is cool and cute to have a celebrity as GB. That's fine, however, you need to know the rules associated with your sorority and Robert's Rules of Order before you go jumping off into matters you do not fully understand. There IS a difference between PLURALITY and MAJORITY. Read your books...

Soror Jackie. This is what I don't get. No matter how you feel about the election, Soror Underwood should not be disrespected by you in that manner. You're asking for Sorors to read their books, but let's start with the handbook. However you may feel about this issue, you do not give off the same energy especially in a forum like this. It's fundamental greekdom not to bring reproach to your sister or brother. That much detail in open media such as this, much of which is facetious, in very unsisterly. What ever happened to discretion, not about the larger issue but the meeting itself. Moreover, if you were there and you say you were..Great!..you would know that it was not just young sorors campaigning for her. However I may feel about a Soror, I will not slander them to an outsider. Be it right or wrong. If you were so offended by Sheryl, you would have placed this same energy into writing the sorority and requesting that she not shout us out at the end of her shows. Want to talk Zeta business, go to realzetas.com. No disrespect to this site. Now that I know that it is entertainment and can't really be taken seriously based on the wide range of contradictory statements. Zetas have wasted enough time and energy here.
Sisterly,
Tammie Spr.96 Upsilon

Mr. Kelly in reference to 13 year olds hearing Sheryl...children..children. We can be parents like we were called to be. Sheryl does not have a 13 year old listening audience. On the other hand...I wouldn't mind listening to Michael Baisden as an adult, but have to turn the station because he invites children in on grown folks discussions. I get nauseous and can not imagine a child being exposed. So really is she the issue. They shouldn't even know who she is. Everyone points the finger..but everyone has personal responsibility...each and every one of us play our part in society's demise.

The Mo'Kelly Report said...

Tammie...I can't let that last paragraph pass.

For far too long we've buried our heads in the sands in terms of the reality of what our children are exposed to.

Every single 13 year old has access to internet and youtube.com.

To think that Underwood's exposure is limited to only the adults in the room of her performance is shortsighted and ultimately untrue.

Going further, please do answer this simple question.

As the International President of Z Phi B...what are we to make of the FIRST vulgar performance she makes that makes its way to youtube.com?

Are we to say it "doesn't matter" because it wasn't "intended" for kids or kids should have better parenting?

Yes, they should have better parenting and ROLE MODELS (presidents of BGLOs) would qualify as such, must be better ROLE MODELS too.

We can't control the individual parenting around the country, but we CAN control what we do to contribute to the problem.

Underwood has yet to say she's giving up vulgar comedy while maintaining the office of president. She has instead said that she has a professional "duality."

That would seem akin to an "excuse"...and we should all know what excuses are.

Soror Jackie,

Why are you on here discussing Zeta business? This is why this thing is never going to die down.

Antoinette said...

Well Mo'Kelly

Didnt YOU say that Sheryl was an honorary member?

Well, she is not as she has cleared it up

You're a funny dude, but at least get your facts straight

Violets said...

Although I truly believe that Sheryl Underwood is a poor representative for your sorority; I do respect the fact that she has been somewhat descrete in her comments. I hope the courts rule that she is indeed the loser, but in the meantime... as a fellow greek, I ask you all to shut up talking about your business in public!

The Mo'Kelly Report said...

Hey "Antoinette"

I've noticed you've had nothing more to say about Mo'Kelly and him getting his "facts straight."

Hmmm...

Your apology is accepted.
