Personally, Mo'Kelly thought the commercial was HEE LARRY US...but it's obvious why it got pulled. In fact, you'll be hard pressed to find it anywhere now, even online. A Hip-hop "thing" rapping about pasta was a bit over the top for some. Midway through it looks like he's either smackin' it up, flippin' it and rubbin' it down...or something else far more vulgar.
You'll see what Mo'Kelly means...
That said...
Mo'Kelly didn't mind it, but wasn't surprised it got pulled. For those who HAVEN'T seen it...here it is...
And here's the edited (non-ass-smacking) version of the commercial that is now airing. The beat is kinda funky...you know you like it!

I think that they are just pasta playa-hatas...too funny.
Hey pasta dude is still slappin' it on all the Los Angeles stations!! Too Cool!
ROFLcoptor!! DANG That was STOOUUPIDLY Funny! W O W!!
Yeah, I'm not sure what those particular hand gestures were supposed to be either. I mean, the upper hand was in the right place for the "smack it, flip it, rub it down", but there was entirely too much motion going on from the other hand. Way too fast.
Oh, and I looked for "pasta dude" on youtube, and found a different version of the commercial with a different voice and different- but still inappropriate and very suspect- hand gestures or motions. Domino's should quit before it gets any worse.
I live in the Los Angeles area and the original commerical is still being played here. I swear, one night, it was on for every commerical (played approx 5 times in an hour). I laugh each and everytime I see it. I'm actually looking online to see if they have a Pasta Dude doll to purchase. They'll make millions.
By the way, he's not stroking it or rubbing it. It's a dance move like he is spanking someone.
As someone stated, it's shown often in LA - which is how I found you. It's crazy funny to me, but like you said, obvious why it would be offensive. I laughed and did a search though and your site came up. Glad to see I am not the only one thinking it's ridiculously funny!
I think I've voluntarily watched this commercial ten 10 times today...
(No lie)
the censored version looks worse than the original now it looks like he all up in it!hes a bad noodle fo sure
the revised version is now airing here in l.a. funny thing though i know someone who thought that the character was saying "prostitute" rather than "pasta dude." with the old version of the commercial this idea that "prostitute" is said while he's "slapping it up" is an even controversial - and funnier - prospect!
what was the ad agency thinking? is there a system of checks & balances with the ad team at domino's corporate office?

It's amazing to me that "nobody" thought that a gumby like toy smacking asses would be slightly offensive/controversial.
Granted, not offensive to me, but from an ad agency standpoint, how did it make it through every level without getting kicked back?
Incredible...
Saw this last night in LA. My friend and I couldnt stop watching the youtube videos over and over. Too bad I can't find a pasta rhymes doll yet.
Somebody has created a Pasta Dude MySpace! It's pretty hilarious! Check it out!
