I was very impressed with this group. Of course, as they themselves acknowledged, it starts with the candidate.
I know I've been tough in my appraisal of the messages coming from his camp since the election, but there is no denying his special ability as a communicator. His speech about race was an act of pure statesmanship. He laid it on the line, kept it real, and trusted the people to decide.
I sincerely hope that is the man we see in the White House. Giving us the straight scoop and asking us to decide what needs to be done. I hope he remembers to trust us and to reach out to us.
Times as unique as these require nothing less.
